season September to May, with reduced summer production mostly for domestic/regional supply.

Varieties

Jan — Dec

Long/Dutch cucumber

Most important export type, standard for EU supermarkets. Smooth skin, long and straight. Mild flavour, low bitterness, excellent shelf life and transport resistance.

French cucumber

Slightly shorter than Dutch type, crispy texture.

Mini cucumber

Small, seedless or low-seed types. Very crunchy, high sweetness. Premium retail segment.
